What is an ETF?

A clear path to diversification

An ETF (Exchange Traded Fund) is a straightforward way to invest in various shares, bonds, or commodities through a single fund. For example, the S&P 500 ETF tracks the top 500 largest US companies.

By investing in this one ETF, you’re effectively investing in 500 companies, helping to spread your risk and simplify your investment choices.

With just a few well-chosen ETFs, you can quickly create
a diversified, low-cost portfolio that reflects your values and goals.

Why set up a regular investment plan

Automating your monthly contributions is the smartest way to grow your wealth over time.

Time in the market beats timing the market. Setting up a regular plan helps you avoid the stress of knowing when to invest.

Regular investing helps you manage the market’s ups and downs by drip-feeding money into the market over time. This is called ‘Euro cost averaging’.

Take advantage of compounding. When you invest longer, you earn returns on your past earnings. This helps your money grow faster.

Automation removes the day-to-day hassle, allowing you to focus on other priorities, while your investments build up in the background.

With our regular investment service, you can start
with just €25 per month and scale up as you go.

Frequently Asked Questions

An ETF (Exchange Traded Fund) is a fund traded on stock exchanges that invests in a variety of stocks or other asset classes. An ETF often replicates a specific index, such as the MSCI World Islamic or the Dow Jones Islamic Global Developed Markets. By purchasing an ETF, you can invest broadly across various assets without buying each stock individually.

At INAIA, we offer a selection of ETFs specifically designed for investors who prefer Islamic-compliant investments. Our ETFs cover different regions and sectors, allowing you to follow a diversified and ethical investment strategy. Over time, we will gradually expand the range of ETFs you can invest in.

With ETFs, you benefit from broad diversification by investing in many companies at once, reducing your risk. ETFs are often more cost-effective than actively managed funds, making them an attractive investment option. Their flexibility is another advantage, as ETFs are traded on the stock exchange, making them easy to buy and sell. Transparency is also a key feature: you always know exactly which companies are included in the ETF and what assets it contains.

This depends on your goals, risk tolerance, and investment horizon. At INAIA, you’ll find a selection of Islamic-compliant ETFs. Before deciding, make sure to research thoroughly or seek professional advice.

Yes, all ETFs offered by INAIA are halal-certified. These ETFs have been carefully selected to ensure they comply with Islamic financial principles.

An ETF savings plan works by regularly investing, for example, monthly, in one or more ETFs. You set the amount, and the rest happens automatically. This way, you can build wealth over the long term even with small amounts and benefit from the cost-average effect.

The cost-average effect describes an investment strategy where you invest a fixed amount regularly – for example, monthly – regardless of whether prices are high or low. This means you buy fewer shares during high prices and more shares during low prices. Over time, you pay an average lower price per share.

ETF costs are generally low. There is a service fee of 0.5% of the portfolio value per year, transaction fees of €1.99 per transaction, and management fees for the ETFs, which range between 0.3% and 0.75% per year.

Like any investment, ETFs also come with risks. The value of an ETF can fluctuate, and there is a risk that you may get back less than you invested. Especially in the short term, market fluctuations can lead to losses. However, in the long term, many risks are balanced out by the broad diversification of an ETF.

Some ETFs and stocks pay dividends, which means they regularly distribute part of their profits to investors. With ETFs, you can choose between distributing ETFs that pay out dividends and accumulating ETFs that automatically reinvest dividends.
